ACCOUNTING CLERK
The warehouse of the future contains high-density, high-precision racking with automated pallet shuttles (like our atlas 1D ) instead of wide aisles that forklifts need to pass through.
Our customers benefit from much better utilization of their warehouses (up to 70% more pallet storage than traditional rack!), maximized vertical space, improved accuracy in pallet selection, and minimized labor costs and product damage.
Over the span of more than 40 years, we’ve grown into a company with 10 manufacturing facilities, 19 commercial offices, and the know-how of around 2000 employees serving customers in 40 countries.
Early 2021, we opened our US Office and have already grown to around 50 people. It’s exciting times to be at stow!

Job Description
The ACCOUNTING CLERK is an integral person on the Finance & Accounting Team that enables us to build and maintain good vendor relationships and uphold invoicing and bookkeeping standards. This position will also support the financial operations of stow US. The core objective of this role is to handle the accounts payable/receivable tasks and other general accounting duties.
Qualifications
As our ACCOUNTING CLERK, you…
• solve any irregularities and deviations in debtor payments, agreements, etc.
• ensure that supplier invoices match the authorized purchase orders and proofs of receipt
• generate accurate project and after-sales customer invoices ACCOUNTING CLERK ROMEOVILLE, IL (On-Site)
• follow the authorization process to verify approval for payments
• prepare payment runs under the supervision of the Finance Manager
• process all supplier invoices into the ERP system correctly and timely
• reconcile accounts payable and receivable to the general ledger
• deliver the provisions for accounts payable and receivable during the month-end close
• handle all supplier requests with regards to payments and follow up on agreements made (e.g., terms of payment) • ensure that payments from customers are done in due time by issuing notices and making calls to customers to chase payments
• follow up on debts transferred to collection agencies
• check the status of open accounts and payments made or to be made
• monitor & manage the accounts receivable collection process under the leadership of the Finance Manager
This lets us know you’re up for the job
• 1-2 years of experience with A/P and A/R
• Experience with project accounting (percent of completion) is strongly preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is preferred but not required
• SAP knowledge is beneficial but not required
• We work closely with our European colleagues. The morning hours are the most important so we can connect with them while our business hours overlap across time zones. If you love starting your workday mid-morning or later, you would hate it here. Most people start their workday at 8 am CST and some love to start even earlier so they can wrap up earlier at the end of the day.
