Quality Control Technician

Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Responsibilities

• Monitor line equipment for functionality, safety, and cleanliness.

• Check metal detectors (CCP), magnets, scales and perform critical control point and GMP audits.

• Assist in foreign material and product non-conformance investigations.

• Perform batch set-up checks, assist in correcting setups, and log discrepancies.

• Place products on hold when necessary and release them when appropriate.

• Reject products as necessary, completing rejection forms including root cause and corrective action analysis.

• Check allergen clean-out effectiveness as needed.

• Perform Pre-Op audits when necessary, such as after equipment maintenance.

• Conduct production scale checks and lab equipment calibration based on the schedule.

• Collect micro samples as needed and manage micro hold products.

• Perform special tasks as assigned, retain sample area, and control sample files.

• Follow all GMP and safety procedures.

Essential Skills

• Ability to use quality control analysis equipment.

• Fluency in spoken and written English.

• Strong mathematical skills.

• Proficiency in computer skills and data processing.

• Ability to climb ladders to work on platforms.

• Capability to lift 50 pounds.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Preferred: Degree in a related field, offering quicker promotional opportunities.

• High school diploma or GED with 1-2 years of related work experience.

Work Environment

• The position requires flexibility to work the second shift from 2pm to 10pm and the third shift from 10pm to 6am. Employees can expect a decent amount of overtime, potentially working up to 12-hour shifts. The role includes a shift differential. The work environment emphasizes adherence to GMP and safety procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oak Park, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $22.35/hr.
