Buyer (Franklin Park)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

• Owning the Purchasing function through overall management of purchases, suppliers, relationships and supplier performance
• Conduct daily review of on‑hand inventory vs. target levels, including new requirements analysis and past‑due delivery follow‑up
• Enter purchase orders accurately and in accordance with lead times, MOQs, container quantities, and logistics requirements
• Manage monthly PO entry cycles with a focus on international suppliers and container optimization
• Track and update container delivery dates; adjust PO delivery schedules based on transit updates and supplier communications
• Expedite shipments as needed due to supplier delays or customer-driven demand changes
• Maintain accurate purchasing master data (pricing, lead times, vendor details) in partnership with the Sourcing Manager
• Participate actively in S&OP, supplier sourcing activities, supplier negotiations, and new product development processes

POSITION REQUIRMENTS:

• Minimum 2-3 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience (manufacturing environment preferred)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret inventory data, demand signals, and supplier metrics
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
• Excellent communication and supplier‑relationship management skills
• Experience working with local & international suppliers, containers, and global logistics
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

• Understanding of S&OP processes, cost negotiation, and sourcing practices
• Familiarity with new product development (NPD) and cross-functional project coordination

WORK ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• In office with moderate noise levels & prolonged computer use. Occasional presence in non-climate-controlled, high-noise production & warehouse areas where appropriate PPE must be worn
• Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000
