LaSalle Network is partnering with a leading manufacturing company in Des Plaines, IL, to hire a Plant Controller! This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned accounting leader ready to take charge of financial strategy and operations for high-performing Chicago-based plants. Reporting directly to the VP/GM and interfacing regularly with the Corporate Controller and CFO, this role offers both visibility and impact.

The ideal candidate thrives in a manufacturing setting, understands cost structures, and knows how to lead a lean, agile accounting team. Immediate availability preferred—this is a role that’s ready to move quickly.

Plant Controller Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a cross-functional accounting team; promote professional development and cross-training

• Own the month-end close, internal controls, and GAAP-compliant reporting

• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and expense reviews for multi-entity operations

• Oversee tax compliance for sales, income, and property taxes

• Manage treasury operations, fixed assets, risk management, credit, and collections

• Partner with leadership on profitability analysis and strategic decision-making

• Drive process automation and tech integration for accounting workflows

Plant Controller Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required); CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred

• 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with cost accounting exposure

• Expert-level Excel skills with strong modeling capabilities

• Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to financial operations

• Comfortable working onsite in Des Plaines
