Electrical Engineer III
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical systems for commercial and industrial building projects. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in building electrical systems and collaborates effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, and code-compliant designs. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop electrical systems for buildings, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
Prepare construction documents, specifications, and technical drawings
Perform load calculations, short-circuit studies, and equipment sizing
Ensure compliance with NEC, local codes, and applicable standards
Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other project stakeholders
Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs during construction
Conduct site visits and provide construction-phase support as needed
Support permitting and inspection processes
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
5+ years of experience in building electrical design (commercial and/or industrial)
Strong working knowledge of NEC and building electrical codes
Experience with power distribution, lighting systems, and life safety systems
Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe)
Experience working in an A/E or consulting engineering environment
Familiarity with energy-efficient design, sustainability standards, or commissioning
Experience with healthcare, higher education, industrial, or mission-critical facilities
