Position Overview
Vienna Correctional Center is looking for an Account Technician I. The ideal candidate is an individual who can multitask and prioritize daily duties. They will perform cashier duties, posting monies received from mailroom and other sources to individual in custody trust accounts, process payment of invoices for locally held funds verifying the Fund Accounting Commissary Trading System (FACTS), invoices and receivers are accurate as well as process Central Inmate Benefit Fund (CIBF) request for purchase forms. This position also enters adjustments and changes to the Systems Application & Products (SAP) program, reviews and updates quarterly property inventories with property control list, assists other Business Office staff in the performance of duties, serves as back up to other Account Technician I's as well as serve as a member of the facility Audit Team. Essential Functions
- Performs cashier duties by posting monies received from mailroom and other sources to individual in custody trust accounts.
- Enters adjustments and changes to the Systems Application & Products (SAP) program.
- Reviews and updates quarterly property inventories with property control list.
- Processes payment of invoices for locally held funds verifying the Fund Accounting Commissary Trading System (FACTS), invoices and receivers are accurate.
- Processes Central Inmate Benefit Fund (CIBF) request for purchase forms.
- Calculates individual in custody payroll and verifies payroll batches are entered into the Fund Accounting Commissary Trading System (FACTS).
- Assists other Business Office staff in the performance of duties and serves a back up to other Account Technician I's.
- Serves as a member of the facility Audit Team.
- Performs other duties as assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college and completion of an approved training course, or three (3) years related clerical bookkeeping experience.
**Qualifying state employees in the employee Upward Mobility Program, may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this classification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience performing cashier duties.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience posting monies received to accounts in an automated accounting system.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience entering adjustments in an automated accounting system.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience preparing monthly reports.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience adjusting quarterly reports.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience processing payment of invoices and receivers.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience submitting invoices for payment.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of experience collaborating with staff to resolve discrepancies with inventory.
- Prefers at least one (1) year of experience using standard office accounting machines and equipment.

- Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
