Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of professional cooking experience
- Strong experience with cuisine of the African diaspora , including African, Caribbean, Creole, and related culinary traditions
- Strong understanding of flavor development, seasoning, and proper cooking technique
- Professional kitchen presence with a high standard for cleanliness, organization, and execution
- Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced, high-standard environment
- Strong prep skills, station management, and attention to detail
- Commitment to teamwork, accountability, and continuous growth
Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute dishes to Mahari’s culinary and presentation standards
- Maintain excellence in taste, consistency, plating, and timing
- Execute prep and service with discipline, urgency, and professionalism
- Uphold all sanitation, food safety, and kitchen cleanliness standards
- Support a kitchen culture built on communication, respect, and accountability
- Contribute to an environment that reflects the quality and spirit of the Mahari experience
