THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE
We are seeking a results-driven Manager of Compensation to lead the day-to-day operational execution of compensation programs, manage cross-functional projects, and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations. This role is critical in driving compensation process efficiency, innovation solutions, and ensuring the organization remains compliant and competitive in its pay practices.
YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY:
Operational Excellence:
- Manage the day-to-day administration of compensation programs to ensure competitive and equitable pay.
- Lead the annual compensation cycle, including merit increases, bonus planning, and salary structure review.
- Lead and continuously enhance the compensation cycles to maintain accuracy, consistency, and transparency across the organization (e.g., merit, bonus, and equity programs, salary survey participation, market benchmarking).
- Review and approve pay decisions as well as provide guidance to People Success business partners on pay adjustments utilizing compensation tools (e.g., compensation approval guidelines)
- Partner with HRIS and IT to enhance data integrity and automation of compensation workflows, including unit testing of compensation and HR system data systems.
Leadership:
- Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing team of compensation analysts.
- Set clear goals, prioritize weekly workload for the compensation team, and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to own deliverables end-to-end.
- Provide strategic guidance and operate with a high level of independence.
Project Management:
- Lead operation execution of compensation related projects such as pay transparency initiatives, incentive plan redesign and system upgrades as needed.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with HR Business Partners, Finance, Legal, and Talent Acquisition teams.
- Partner with HRIS to maintain and optimize compensation data accuracy and reporting capabilities.
Compliance & Governance:
- Stays apprised of federal, state, and local labor and compensation laws and regulations to ensure compliance of ULTA compensation programs.
- Support audits and ensure documentation and practices align with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, Finance, or related field
- 5-7 years of compensation administration experience.
- Experience with executive compensation including base, incentive designs, and long-term equity programs.
- Experience supporting Senior leadership or Compensation Committee preferred.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Proficient in Excel and HR systems (e.g., SuccessFactors, SAP, or similar).
- Deep knowledge of compensation practices, regulatory requirements, and job evaluation methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, attention to detail, strong communication skills including written communication and decision making.

The pay range for this position is $102,900.00 - $150,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
