Position Summary
This position is responsible for driving new business development and supporting existing customer accounts within the semiconductor and electronic components market. While the former role carried a “Sales Engineer” title, deep engineering expertise is not required; technical knowledge can be developed through onboarding and training. The focus is on managing the full sales cycle, collaborating with sales representatives and distributors, and supporting ongoing Japanese automotive customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities through lead generation, prospecting, and direct customer engagement (approx. 70% new business).
- Support and expand existing customer accounts, primarily Japanese automotive manufacturers (approx. 30% existing business).
- Work closely with sales representatives, distributors, and internal stakeholders to execute sales strategies.
- Manage the full sales process, including customer needs assessment, proposal preparation, pricing negotiation, and order coordination.
- Act as a liaison between U.S. customers and Japan-based teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
- Prepare sales forecasts, activity reports, and account updates for management.
- Participate in customer visits, meetings, and industry-related activities as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience in sales or business development within semiconductors, electronic components, or a closely related industry.
- Understanding of end-to-end sales processes in a B2B environment.
- Japanese and English bilingual proficiency (spoken and written).
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting or selling to automotive or Japanese manufacturing customers.
- Familiarity with distributor or representative-based sales models.
- Prior exposure to technical or industrial products.
Other Details
- Technical product knowledge will be supported through internal training.
