Perform structural engineering design and analysis for identified systems under the close supervision of a senior engineer. Participate in project-related meetings to coordinate activities and communicate designs. Assist with the preparation of engineering deliverables, participate in field surveys, condition assessments, and site investigations. Perform construction administration-related tasks including submittal review, responding to RFIs, and observation of construction-related activities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys, condition assessments, and site investigations.

• Handle construction administration tasks like submittal reviews and RFI responses.

• Observe and report on construction activities.

Essential Skills

• 2-5 years of experience in Structural Engineering.

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering.

• Experience in building design.

• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Revit is advantageous but not required.

• Experience with RAM Structural System and SAP2000 is a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment is an open-office setting in Darien, fostering a collaborative atmosphere. The candidate will work closely with a team of structural engineers, including two senior engineers with over 10 years of experience and junior engineers. The office operates on a production-based model, with work divided between public projects (two-thirds) and residential projects (one-third). The work schedule is 7:30 am-5:15 pm from Monday to Thursday, with remote work half-days on Fridays. The dress code is business professional to business casual, with more relaxed attire on Fridays. The facility offers ample parking, including designated spots for hybrid vehicles, and features a kitchen area. The building is LEED Platinum-certified, emphasizing environmental sustainability.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Darien, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
