The First Responders Wellness Center is recruiting for a clinical psychologist, LCPC or LCSW position. The LCP will be doing therapy and testing. Flexible hours, PT or FT positions from 16-40 hours a week. There are two locations: one in Chicago and one in Lombard. Usually, clinicians have a certain day in one location and then another. For ex. Tue in Chicago, Wed in Lombard.

Candidates who have experience working with first responders and/or Veterans will have a preference.

The Psychologist provides an array of mental health services, including pre-employment testing and fitness for duty in addition to individual and couples therapy, individual or group debriefing for critical incidents, wellness checks, and suicide assessments.

Clinicians with a LCPC or LCSW will also conduct individual and couples therapy, individual and group debriefing for critical incidents, wellness checks, and suicide assessments.

The mental health professional will interface with police department personnel at all levels, county agency personnel, civilian and police union representatives, state and local agencies as well as local and national providers of mental health services.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

-individual, couples, and group therapy utilizing CBT, CPT, EMDR, and exposure therapies. Providing routine and emergency mental health assessment, intervention, and diagnosis for individual, couple, or group; We do groups 1-2 times a month.

- providing initial and follow-up support of personnel involved in critical incidents;

- providing training on psychological and stress management, officer wellness, critical incidents, suicide awareness and prevention for first responders

- documentation of services utilizing SOAP notes in client records management database/electronic health records system, ensuring confidentiality of client information;

- consulting and collaborating with staff, management, and health care professionals about matters related to mental health;

This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, a collaborative style of working with others, and flexibility. We have weekly didactics for ongoing training and development.
