Director, Card Partnerships Financial Planning & Analysis
The Position: Capital One is seeking a culture-led, results-driven, and strategic Director of Partnerships Finance. This is an exciting time for Capital One Card Partnerships, as we are looking to expand our business aggressively in the partner credit card segment, not only through organic growth in existing programs, but also through acquisitions of new card partners. The Director of Partnerships Finance will be the CFO for four of card partnerships programs. They will manage a team that brings data, analytics, and insights to shape the financial decisions and strategic direction of the business. We are looking for an experienced leader to enable the company to develop short and long term plans to grow and drive profitability in Partnerships as we build for the future. Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team associates providing in-depth financial analysis and strategic planning for Capital One Card Partnerships
- Represent Capital One and the Partnerships business in meetings and discussions with external partner senior leadership teams
- Coordinate seamlessly across Capital One’s corporate Global Finance teams in support of business partners
- Provide reporting, analysis, and forecasting to facilitate decision making and to track performance against operating goals and imperatives
- Leverage detailed bottoms-up financial forecasts and perform tops-down analysis to drive business decisions
- Synthesize and communicate data-driven insights to advise finance and business leadership teams on investment prioritization and sequencing aligned to strategic plans
- Partner cross-functionally with the business and analytical functions to assess opportunities and risks to the trajectory of the business, with an orientation to long-term value creation and delivering appropriate financial performance
- Communicate and influence effectively at the highest levels of the organization
- Act as a leader in the Global Finance organization, bringing an enterprise-level perspective to support technology, diversity, talent and process improvement efforts
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis to investigate and assess any industry related topics and strategic options. Identify trends and draw conclusions from data
- Pursue professional development opportunities, including internal and external training and professional association memberships, and share information gained with team members
- Demonstrated leadership capacity and ability to attract, challenge and develop exceptional talent
- Ability to build and manage financial analyses and to develop top-quality storytelling in support of strategic initiatives, including senior management presentations
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead and operate within highly matrixed teams
- Ability to drive sustainable results on large scale, cross-functional deliverables
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or other quantitative discipline, or military experience
- At least 5 years’ experience managing a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function
- At least 5 years of people management experience
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Finance
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
- 7+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- 7+ years of experience managing a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function
- 7+ years of people management experience including both direct & indirect reports
- 7+ years of experience with credit card financial data and analysis
- Ability to build and manage robust financial models within modern infrastructure
