Assistant Pool Manager - Rice Pool - Seasonal

GENERAL PURPOSE

This position is responsible for the daily supervision of the operation of the Rice pool.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Minimum of eighteen (18) years of age. A minimum of two (2) seasons of aquatic leadership with the Wheaton Park District preferred. Must be able to lead, manage, and motivate assigned staff. Must have great problem solving, analytical, organizational, interpersonal; and written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to multi-task and work calmly and effectively under pressure.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Assist in interpreting and enforcing all state, county and park district rules, regulations and policies.
2. Assist in developing and coordinating staff in-service training.
3. Assist in preparing reports, statistics and evaluations of all aspects of aquatic facility.
4. Assist in maintaining supplies and inventory.
5. Assist with pre-season and post-season maintenance.
6. Maintain a safe environment through total knowledge of functions and operations of all safety rescue and first aid equipment.
7. Assist in maintaining supplies and equipment inventory.
8. Must be able to work with the public and problem solve.
9. Schedule staff.
10. Provide a high quality of customer service in a professional manner to the internal customer that will facilitate team building and exceptional customer service to the external customer.
11. Follow the Wheaton Park District policies, procedures, and guidelines.
12. Proactively support the V.A.L.U.E.S. (integrity, fun, commitment, adaptability and growth, kindness, and service) on a daily basis.
13. Maintain good safety awareness and follow all safety guidelines and procedures

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, ETC

This position must have an adult/child CPR and National Pool and Water Park Lifeguard Training Certificate. A.F.O., C.P.O., or State of Illinois Pool Certification preferred. Must have ServSafe certificate.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to: occasionally remain in a stationary position for long periods with repetitive hand/arm movements such as when working on a computer when pools are closed. This position must be able to occasionally move a body from the pool with assistance which can be over over 50 lbs. and rarely over shoulders and head. This position will be required to frequently move about the pool deck and offices and position one’s self to be able to perform CPR on adults and children.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

This position must be able to be exposed to all extreme summer weather conditions including heat, sun, rain, and varying degrees of temperature and light. This position will also be exposed to pool chemicals and cleaning supplies.

SALARY

Looking to hire at $15.00 per hour

SALARY RANGE

Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum

$15.00 - $18.75 - $22.50
