The Opportunity
This position is responsible for the effective sales management and maintenance of existing customers as well as the development of new and potential customers that fall within a specified annual revenue range. The Inside Sales Associate is responsible for developing and maintaining positive customer relationships by providing excellent customer service and best in industry products at competitive prices while achieving agreed upon annual sales targets.
What You’ll Do
- Meets sales revenue targets, gross margin targets and targets to increase the number of customers established each year.
- Responsible for the analysis and maintenance of existing inside sales customers in the database including tracking current business and forecasting monthly sales from smaller accounts within the territory.
- Research new business opportunities, develop relationships and follow up on all leads (i.e. magazines, website, trade shows, industry events and word of mouth).
- Assess new customer opportunities and close out dead end leads while identifying when it is time to transition high potential opportunities to outside sales management.
- Promote sales through the identification, development and execution of market opportunities and distribution of the company’s portfolio.
- Commercial contact for all aspects of customer facing interaction from account setup support, initial order placement with customer service, order shipment follow-up and managing any issue that may arise throughout this process.
- Prepare sales quotes and contracts as necessary, negotiate pricing and provide business solutions to effectively close sales.
- Present and deliver sales programs, custom solutions and answer questions related to pricing, product knowledge and availability.
- Research and support resolution of customer collection issues with support of finance team.
- Track and analyze monthly sales & profit numbers ensuring no business is lost due to competitive pricing, availability, lead times or any other problems encountered by our customers with relation to dealing with Glanbia ingredients.
- Stay current with latest industry news and trends by involvement in industry events, tradeshows, social outings, seminars, memberships in industry organizations and magazine subscriptions.
- Ensure product knowledge is up to date and work with collaboratively with Product Strategy Management team to present product portfolio effectively.
- Regularly communicate to appropriate Glanbia personnel, information gained regarding competition, leads, product development and potential new opportunities.
- Actively participate in the development, coordination and execution of the Company’s sales strategy and deliver to the annual published sales targets for territory.
- Log samples, collaborative projects and ongoing sales activity and customer interactions / key contact updates through company CRM system.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
The Skills You Will Bring To The Team
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Food/Nutrition Science or Sales & Marketing with Technical background or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in sales or customer facing role.
- Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), to include speaking clearly and persuasively in positive and or/negative situations.
- Must be results-focused and oriented toward accomplishment of team goals.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while remaining productive at all times.
- Must be able to work in a team environment and possess team-based problem-solving skills.

- Effectively interact with all levels of personnel, customers and vendors with the utmost professionalism.
- Ability to stay positive and calm in difficult and/or trying situations.
- Ability to handle multiple, rapidly changing and conflicting priorities.
- Must be able to work flexible hours to include overtime when needed.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint

The opportunity will be based remotely, supporting Eastern U.S. customer accounts.

Glanbia provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles; the salary range for this role is $65,000-75,000 plus an annual bonus. This range may not be applicable to other locations and targeted salary is midpoint of range. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role.
