Sangamon County Community Resources has an opening for a Weatherization Assessor to join our team! The Weatherization Assessor will assist the Weatherization Coordinator in completing the weatherization work of various homes in Sangamon & Macon County. The position will assist in providing oversight and overall coordination of assigned programs and contracts in compliance with all relevant State, Federal, and local provisions and is responsible to meet all requirements for this position.

This position is multifaceted and will contain at a minimum the following duties as required by the program and funding entities tied to the Weatherization program. This position will report to the Lead Energy Specialist/Quality Control/Health and Safety Inspector.

*Weatherization applications will be entered into the weather system by the Weatherization Assistant who shall be supplied and trained with the latest versions of program manuals describing the actions involved in creating an application and entering said information into the State of Illinois Weatherization database. Once the information has been created, a file will be made with all required information and given to the Coordinator for approval.

*All files will be logged into an Excel spreadsheet that will be created by the Weatherization Assessor and updated on a regular basis or as the program requires. It will be required to assist the QCI Assessor in entering assessments to produce the proper work order for the Contractor. This will require training with the Lead Energy Specialist to learn catalogs, funding sources as well as procedures.

Requirements

*Within one year of joining the Weatherization program team, the Weatherization Assessor will attend and pass DCEO training program TCP. This will ensure there is a comprehensive working knowledge of what the program can provide in the best interest of the client. Will need to be familiar with OSHA weatherization regulations and lead based paint, radon and molds as well as the proper way to handle any problems that may present themselves at the time of intake and assessment. These potential problems will also be noted within the application so the Assessor is aware and can issue the proper hazard forms as required.

*Attend any and all trainings and/or meetings that are required by DCEO, IACAA or OCA..
Aim to achieve high customer satisfaction through quality program delivery and customer

service. All inquiries will be returned with 24 hours of receipt of message via telephone or email.

Any inquires not able to be resolved or answered by Assessor will be given to the Weatherization Coordinator/ Lead Energy Specialist for further assistance to client.

*Maintain customer confidentiality and protect customer information within the Agency

Experience in a position with responsibility involving the ability to work one on one with customers and the ability to work well with other employees.

Willingness to attend any education courses that pertain to the position and to complete TPC class within one year.

Have a valid driver’s license

Ability to attend community meetings and interpret information presented and shared amongst participants, provide program information at community meetings, provide formal program presentations, and collect and share relevant meeting information with team.

Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate program needs including periodic evenings and weekends.

Skills

Exceptional skills in leadership, supervision, training, and program evaluation. • Must possess strong skills in the use of common office software for word processing, spreadsheets and databases.

Ability to prioritize and handle emergency or crisis situations.

Effective management, leadership, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

Ability to handle program and client information in a confidential manner and report concerns as mandated.

Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles.

Benefits

Primary Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., however, work may require occasional nights and weekends. (37.5 hours per week)

Status: Full-Time
Pay Grade: 7
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Starting Wage: $40,657- $50,821

2 weeks paid vacation, 3 personal days, 12 paid sick leave days and 13 paid holidays per year
