Job Description
Senior Industrial Maintenance Technician (Level III)
Picture your day starting with a safety huddle, where protecting people and equipment sets the tone for everything that follows. You’ll move from a quick building walkthrough to scheduled inspections on production and plant equipment, then jump into a repair that keeps a critical line running. Throughout the day, you’ll respond to maintenance requests, document findings, and coordinate with teammates to ensure quality and uptime never slip.
In this role, safety is the constant. You will follow company health and safety procedures without compromise—applying LOTO, HAZCOM, PPE, and Confined Space practices alongside all Company, State, and Federal programs—while delivering reliable maintenance on a wide range of machinery, systems, and facilities assets.
What You’ll Handle by Level Level 1- Model best-in-class habits with a strong focus on safety, product quality, and adherence to policies.
- Operate maintenance basics confidently and safely: hand tools, power tools, and standard electrical test instruments.
- Uphold all safety rules and departmental procedures every shift.
- Carry out assigned preventive maintenance and minor corrective actions.
- Support other maintenance team members with a variety of assigned tasks.
- Identify, document, and escalate improper machine operation or faulty equipment.
- Apply LOTO, HAZCOM, PPE, Confined Space, and other required safety programs consistently.
- Share knowledge by helping train fellow maintenance staff when needed.
- Perform PM work appropriate to current skill level.
- Take on additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor or Department Assistant.
- Execute all Level 1 responsibilities.
- Bring 2+ years of technical training and 3+ years of experience (or equivalent).
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics with ease.
- Assist maintenance technicians and machine operators to resolve equipment concerns.
- Troubleshoot using defined problem-solving methods.
- Partner with engineering to gather data and participate in beta testing of select projects.
- Collaborate confidently with machine service engineers; report unusual conditions for resolution.
- Follow and execute emergency steps for power failures.
- Demonstrate solid proficiency in basic mechanical or electrical tasks.
- Apply fundamental welding skills when required.
- Fulfill all Level 1 and Level 2 expectations.
- Bring 2+ years of technical training and 5+ years of experience (or equivalent).
- Proactively detect, document, report, and resolve equipment issues.
- Troubleshoot and repair using both mechanical and electrical schematics; propose design improvements as needed.
- Show strong proficiency across standard mechanical and electrical work.
- Act as an expert resource to support engineering initiatives.
- Create new preventive maintenance procedures and manage them through document control.
- Clear written and verbal communication in English.
- Forklift operation experience.
- Familiarity with press operations.
- Understanding of quality requirements and ISO 9001:2015 procedures.
- Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and work instructions.
- Working knowledge of company policies, shop standards, and safety rules.
- HVAC and refrigerant knowledge is a plus.
- Capability for repetitive standing, walking, climbing, bending, and kneeling, and to lift heavy/awkward items up to 50 lbs as needed.
