OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY
Fox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.JOB DESCRIPTION
WFLD Chicago Fox 32 is seeking skilled freelance photographers to join our news broadcast team. This role involves shooting and editing spot news, feature stories, and sports, as well as performing LiveU and ENG microwave shots throughout the Chicago area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Capture and edit high-quality video for spot news, feature stories, and sports segments.
- Execute LiveU and ENG microwave shots from various locations in and around Chicago.
- Collaborate effectively with the Assignment Desk, Writers, and Reporters to ensure seamless production.
- Travel as necessary to cover stories and events, adhering to a regular 40-hour work week with potential overtime.
- Edit news stories in-house at station.
- Supply technical support on live remotes.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years as a news photographer.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in shooting and editing packages in the field and inhouse using Adobe Premiere. Audio mixing a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift over fifty (50) pounds of equipment and carry a tripod, batteries, and LiveU backpack.
- Availability: Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.
- Local Knowledge: Familiarity with the Chicago area is preferred.
- Licensing: Valid driver’s license required.
- Union Compliance: Must work within NABET CBA guidelines.
