Seeking a well-experienced and skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in carpentry, construction, remodeling, current building codes, etc. (blueprint reading is a plus). This position will require driving a company van to and from our shop to job sites and to pick up materials when necessary (thus the necessity of a driver's license). Please do not apply if you do not have a driver's license.
We are a well-rounded construction company located in McHenry County, where most of our jobs are located. We do everything from simple trim jobs, to complete custom homes, and everything in between. (windows, doors, decks, siding, drywall, flooring, cabinets, etc).
Experience
- Proven experience in the restoration industry or general construction environment with a focus on carpentry or related trades
- Extensive knowledge of construction, building codes, and blueprint reading is a plus
- Hands-on experience with framing, roofing (including shingles), siding (vinyl or fiber cement), drywall finishing, flooring installation (tile, LVP, wood, etc) and fixture mounting
- Ability to perform at heights (scaffold, ladders, planks, etc)
- Familiarity with schematics for electrical or plumbing systems is preferred
- Prior experience in remodeling projects involving cabinetry, door hanging, painting, tile work, or masonry is advantageous
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License
- Professional carpentry experience
- Strong working knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods, including installation and construction
- Proficient in hand tools / power tools as well as measurement tools
