Marklund is seeking highly motivated and mission-centered individuals for the position of Payroll Specialist. This is a full-time position based out of the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva, IL. The schedule is Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

The salary of this position is $50,000 - $55,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Hybrid option available with two work from home days a week after completion of the 90 day training period. Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and to meet its functional and environmental requirements.

Who We Are:

Marklund is a nonprofit organization that provides residential, educational and therapy services to infants, children, teens and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. With three residential locations – the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva, the Marklund Philip Center in Bloomingdale, and the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin, it is currently home to nearly 178 residents. The Marklund Day School offers Multi-Needs and Life Skills programs for children and young adults with multiple medical needs, and those diagnosed on the autism spectrum. In addition, our Community Day Services program at each site is a therapeutic day program for adults who reside at Marklund and those who come in from the community.

Responsibilities include:

• Participate in the New Employee Orientation program to explain the Payroll Process.
• Investigate payroll inquiries providing assistance as required.
• Daily audit of selected timecards.
• Process payroll in accordance with policies.
• Maintain complete and accurate payroll records in accordance with laws.
• End of pay period audit of timecard approvals.
• Contact supervisors/managers to resolve end of pay period approval issues.
• Process selected status changes related to payroll preparation and PTO calculation related journal entry.
• Assist with A/R projects

Experience and Skills

Qualifications:

• 1-2 or more years of accounting/spreadsheet experience with payroll and timekeeping preferred
• Associate Degree, some college preferred
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and to meet its function and environmental requirements
