The School of Labor and Employment Relations (LER) has a vacant Teaching Assistant Professor position in Human Resource Management in the Graduate Faculty. We are particularly seeking candidates with teaching experience in micro-level topics such as fundamentals of HR, HR career development, HR leadership, organizational development, staffing, training and development, etc.
The responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant Professor include: (a) designing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses each semester in face-to-face, or online formats, depending on the School’s instructional needs; (b) mentoring and supervising graduate teaching assistants, as appropriate; (c) providing academic and career guidance to students; (d) overseeing the undergraduate course offerings, including undergraduate certificate in HR; (e) conducting scholarly research; and (f) serving on School-wide committees.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctoral degree in HR, HRD, OB, I/O Psychology or a related field. Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience in higher education settings. Minimum of three (3) years of career coaching. Minimum of three (3) years of student academic advising and program administration. Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring novice (student) teachers in pedagogical practices to improve classroom instruction and enhance student engagement.
Appointment Information
This is a full-time, non-tenure-track position that supports our highly regarded master’s programs (both in-person and online), as well as our undergraduate offerings.
The budgeted salary range for this position is $100,000–$120,000 for a 9-month service basis. Open to a Spring 2026 start date, if that is not feasible, an August 2026 start date would work as well.
