Position Highlights: NT6 Observation

• Number of beds on unit: 35
• Patient population (age, diagnosis, specifics about unit): The Observation Unit is a 35-bed unit that provides acute care for issues ranging from cardiac, to general surgery, to behavioral health. These patients receive holistic care that reflect the values and mission of Carle Foundation Hospital. Patients goal length of stay is 24-48 hours.
• Nurse to Patient ratio: 1:5-6
• Department culture and resources: The Observation unit is a fast-pace, team-oriented unit. We work closely with our physician partners and ancillary team members to achieve the best outcomes for our patients. We have a robust Partnership Committee that meets monthly. We have a unit-based educator, 2 nurse supervisors, charge nurses and a discharge nurse.
• Frequent nursing skills/equipment used: Foley/IV/NG insertions, Nursing prioritization, IV pumps, Lift equipment, SCDs, Telemetry monitoring, Patient connection

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $33.68per hour - $57.93per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidates experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
