Manufacturing Engineer

Description: Seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with 8-10 years of experience to join the team. They offer a range of services including welding, forming, machining, and assembly to produce metal components and structures tailored to specific client requirements. Key Responsibilities: + Develop and revise 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorks. + Generate supplemental drawings and documentation to support fabrication processes. + Interpret and apply blueprints and technical drawings to manufacturing workflows. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve production efficiency and quality. + Receive project assignments, establish deadlines, and manage included project files. + Create custom fabrication processes for new projects and update legacy projects to align with current templates and standards. + Provide technical guidance to the fabrication team and support continuous improvement initiatives. Day-to-Day Workflow: + Receive a project assignment with a defined scope and deadline. + Review and organize project files and requirements. + Develop supplemental documentation and process instructions tailored to the project. + Update existing projects using new templates and standards. + Coordinate with the Engineering Manager and fabrication teams to ensure alignment and accuracy. Additional Skills & Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field (preferred). - 8-10 years of experience in sheet metal manufacturing or a related environment. - Proficiency in SolidWorks and familiarity of SolidWorks PDM Vault. - Ability to create and manage drawing packets for fabrication. - Familiarity with AutoCAD (nice to have). - Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes, including welding, laser cutting, forming, and CNC programming. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $44.00/hr.
