We are seeking an Assistant Project Coordinator to join our growing team at Ardmore Roderick. This role supports project teams delivering critical infrastructure work for the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) . The Assistant Project Coordinator provides essential administrative, tracking, and coordination support to ensure the success of transportation projects throughout the city. This position is based in Chicago, IL , with field work. Key Responsibilities
- Assist project managers and engineers in tracking project milestones and deliverables
- Coordinate and organize project documents, including submittals, permits, and inspection reports
- Support meeting scheduling, agenda preparation, and documentation for internal and client meetings
- Assist with compiling data for monthly and quarterly reporting to clients and internal stakeholders
- Monitor and update project tracking systems and schedules under supervision
- Conduct field visits to observe and document project status and provide logistical support
- Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Urban Planning, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in construction, engineering, transportation, or administrative coordination
- Familiarity with public infrastructure or municipal projects (CDOT preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills
- Have a team player mindset with the ability to communicate proficiently in written and verbal forms
- Have good to great organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Familiarity with City of Chicago departments and permitting processes
- Experience working in a consultant or government agency environment
- Experience using project management or document control systems
- Interest in long-term career development in project management or transportation infrastructure
