Pump Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician | Pumps, Mixers, Piping & Industrial Equipment (Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment supporting chemical manufacturing operations.)

Location: Forest View, IL (near Midway Airport) ⏰ Schedule: Training on 1st Shift for ~2 months, then 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM Pay: $28–$32/hour + $2/hr 2nd shift differential ⏱ Overtime: Available; occasional Saturdays and rotating call-in schedule

Role Summary:

Randstad USA is hiring a Maintenance Technician for a stable, family-owned chemical manufacturing company in Forest View, IL. This is a full-time, direct hire role supporting production equipment reliability and plant operations.

The technician will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mixers, pumps, piping systems, and other production equipment in a chemical processing environment while supporting preventive maintenance programs and plant improvement projects.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience
• Experience in manufacturing or chemical processing environments preferred
• Knowledge of pumps, mixers, steam systems, fabrication, and basic electrical systems
• Familiarity with CMMS maintenance tracking systems
• Ability to safely operate equipment such as forklifts or lifts
• Valid driver’s license required

Preferred Background:

• Chemical manufacturing or processing facilities
• Experience with pumps, agitators, piping systems, and instrumentation
• Mechanical troubleshooting and fabrication skills

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment uptime
• Troubleshoot and repair pumps, mixers, agitators, and process equipment
• Conduct basic electrical troubleshooting (110V, 220V, 460V systems)
• Install and maintain piping systems up to 3” and related instrumentation
• Assist with equipment installation, piping, and electrical upgrades
• Read basic blueprints (P&ID knowledge a plus)
• Document maintenance activities using CMMS systems
• Follow work order schedules and respond to urgent maintenance issues
• Maintain compliance with OSHA safety standards including LOTO, PPE, confined space, and hot work permits
• Support plant operations during outages and rotating call-in coverage
