You will promote the use of evidence-based practice. You will develop an individualized plan of care using a collaborative approach with the patient and healthcare team. You will assess the patient's status through interviews, observations, and physical assessments. You will use appropriate interventions identified in the plan of care to achieve expected patient outcomes. You will systematically evaluate and document the patient's progress toward expected outcomes on an ongoing basis. You will complete required documentation, including patient charts and event reports. You will modify the plan of care based on evaluations and changes in patient conditions. You will demonstrate professional accountability for your own practice through seeking resources and continued self-development. You will acquire and maintain current knowledge and skills in evidence-based nursing practice. You will demonstrate technical knowledge of equipment and troubleshoot problems as they arise. You will promote the professional development of yourself and team members. You will share clinical knowledge through informal teaching. You will demonstrate a practical problem-solving approach to patient moving and handling issues. You will possess knowledge and skills to obtain adequate lab specimens for testing. You will perform patient bedside lab testing and associated quality control in compliance with medical provider orders and hospital procedures. You will coordinate interdisciplinary care of the patient through collaboration with team members. You will analyze clinical situations in a systematic way and act to obtain resources or correct problems to meet patient needs. You will recognize the need for assistance and utilize resources in a timely manner. You will demonstrate ownership and persistence to ensure problems are resolved effectively. You will be able to assume assignments of non-complex and some complex patient management. You will consistently prioritize work based on changes in patient condition and assignments. You will identify and utilize team resources to solve problems or needs. You will collaborate with the healthcare team in organizing tasks for patient care from admission to discharge. You will provide goal-focused shift reports. You will work with team members in delegating tasks appropriately. You will advocate for patients’ needs with physicians when necessary. You will assess and choose teaching strategies appropriate to the patient's and family's needs. You will take cultural, age-specific, and developmental factors into consideration when teaching patients. You will adapt teaching strategies based on the patient's response and readiness to learn.
