Manufacturing Consultant (East Moline)

TRCTalent is seeking an RTLS Engineering Consultant for a leading manufacturing-focused consulting firm. This role designs, implements, and optimizes real-time location systems (RTLS)—primarily using KINEXON RTLS Pro/OS—and integrates real-time data with Infor Manufacturing ERP to improve efficiency, safety, and visibility across industrial operations.

Key Responsibilities
RTLS Solution Design & Infor ERP Integration

Assess manufacturing workflows to define RTLS use cases and ERP integration points.

Design RTLS architectures using KINEXON RTLS Pro/OS for tracking assets, people, and materials.

Build data flows from RTLS events into Infor Production Management, Shop Floor Control, Inventory, and TAKT Time modules.

Configure UWB anchor networks, zones, dashboards, and analytics.

Develop automated workflows for real-time production reporting, labor tracking, WIP visibility, and inventory updates.

Manufacturing Process Optimization

Partner with manufacturing engineers and operations leaders to identify improvement opportunities.

Apply RTLS for lean initiatives: waste reduction, bottleneck visibility, material flow optimization.

Enable tracking for tools, equipment, WIP, finished goods, and automate alerts for production, maintenance, and quality events.

Technical Implementation

Implement RTLS-to-Infor integrations via KINEXON OS, Infor ION, and APIs (MQTT, OPC-UA, REST).

Deploy and maintain RTLS hardware (anchors, tags, gateways, edge devices).

Build custom KINEXON OS applications and data connectors.

Client Engagement

Conduct site assessments, ROI evaluations, and technical workshops.

Support sales with solution proposals and implementation roadmaps.

Deliver training and presentations to manufacturing stakeholders.

Project Leadership

Manage full project lifecycle: planning, integration, deployment, testing, and optimization.

Coordinate with IT, operations, safety, logistics, and maintenance teams.

Provide ongoing support and continuous improvement services.

Qualifications
Required

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

5+ years in manufacturing operations, industrial engineering, or technical consulting.

Experience with RTLS systems (KINEXON preferred).

Hands-on experience with Infor Manufacturing ERP (configuration or integration).

Background implementing technology in manufacturing environments (ERP, MES, IoT, or automation).

Technical Skills

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and KPIs (OEE, TAKT, cycle time).

Proficiency with KINEXON RTLS Pro and KINEXON OS configuration, customization, and workflows.

Experience with Infor ION, Infor ERP APIs, and industrial communication protocols (MQTT, OPC-UA, Modbus, Ethernet/IP).

Ability to build custom integrations using Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.

Preferred

Six Sigma, Lean, PMP, or industrial IoT certifications.

Infor ERP or ION certifications.

Experience with other RTLS platforms or Industry 4.0 technologies.

Familiarity with cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) and edge computing.
