Managing Director
Compensation: $10,000 annually (8-10 hours per week with 10 weeks off annually)
The EcoVoice Project (The EcoVP) seeks a part-time Managing Director. The Managing Director will support the administration, operations, and marketing of The EcoVoice Project. This role will serve collaboratively with the Artistic Director and report to the Artistic Director and The EcoVoice Project Board of Directors. The Managing Director will work closely with members of the Board and its various Committees, the Artistic Director, and will potentially supervise the work of volunteers, interns, and future employees.
Please note that this is a Contractor position at this time and requires the successful candidate to provide their own work environment (including space, computing, and phone). The role is hybrid, with most work able to be performed remotely but some required to be in-person (i.e., concerts, board meetings, and other events).
This role requires an organized administrator with a deep passion for choral arts and caring for the environment who will work together with the Artistic Director and Board in implementing the strategic plan for the organization. You will be one of the faces of the organization, interacting with our collaborators, musicians, audience, and donors to support a vibrant community.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks in the following areas:
- Marketing (including Website maintenance; Social media oversight; & PR placement oversight)
- Operations (including Event attendance and support; & Rehearsal attendance and support)
- Finance & Administration (including Donor tracking; Light bookkeeping under supervision of the Treasurer)
- Governance (including attending all meetings of the Board of Directors, prepare and present reports for eachBoard meeting and for other committee meetings as required & Serving as ex-officio member of the Board along with Artistic Director)
- Other tasks according to your skill set such as grant writing, donor development, media relations, budgeting, etc.
Necessary Qualifications
- Passion for the choral arts, care for the environment, and community engagement.
- Poised, professional presence as a public representative of the organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a Board of Directors, artistic leadership, staff, and volunteers.
- Collaborative leadership style and strong interpersonal skills, while being able to work independently and proactively.
- Experience with website platforms, Google suite applications, and fundraising and/or bookingkeeping software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in arts administration.
- Knowledge of effective fundraising strategies, including donor cultivation, grant seeking, and event production.
