Dentist
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Dentist to join our client's community health center. This is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with all modern equipment and a great team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of general and specialized dentistry practices, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. As a Dentist, you will be responsible for diagnosing oral health issues, performing dental procedures, and educating patients on maintaining optimal oral hygiene. Your expertise in dental techniques and patient assessment will contribute significantly to improving our patients oral health and overall well-being.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough dental examinations, including medical and dental history assessments, utilizing advanced dental imaging and diagnostic tools.
- Perform a wide range of dental procedures such as dental restorations, extractions—including dental extractions—and root canal therapy with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Develop personalized treatment plans based on comprehensive patient assessment and diagnosis, ensuring clarity in medical documentation and records.
- Collaborate with the dental team to deliver high-quality patient care, emphasizing infection control, HIPAA compliance, and the use of electronic health records systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care strategies, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
- Maintain a sterile environment by following strict infection control protocols and ensuring all medical records are accurately documented in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Stay current with advancements in dentistry by participating in ongoing professional development, including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery techniques.
- Assist in training new staff members and supporting the efficient operation of the dental clinic or office environment.
Skills
- Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix for patient management and documentation.
- Extensive knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical imaging techniques.
- Demonstrated expertise in general dentistry procedures including restorations, prosthodontics, endodontics (root canal therapy), and oral surgery procedures like extractions.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic technique to ensure patient safety.
- Experience with pediatric dentistry and working with pediatric patients (pediatrics) is highly desirable.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs accurately and communicate effectively about treatment options.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations governing patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Ability to perform dental fabrication tasks when necessary for prosthetic or restorative work.
