Compensation

• End Date: December 13, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift: Day shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (8-hour shifts)

PACU RN Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience in PACU or surgical care
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Active Illinois RN license (Illinois nursing jobs)
• BLS (American Heart Association) certification
• ACLS (American Heart Association) certification
• NIHSS certification

PACU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver professional nursing care to post-surgical patients in the PACU using current clinical best practices
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and document findings in EPIC
• Identify and respond to patient status changes, communicating with physicians as needed
• Create and implement individualized care plans for patients and families
• Establish IVs for patients over 8 years old and ensure safe medication administration
• Participate in OR time-out procedures and collaborate with the surgical care team
• Maintain accurate documentation to support continuity of care
• Promote safety for patients and staff by identifying and addressing hazards
• Engage in ongoing professional development and support peer growth
