CNC Rotary Transfer Cell Operator

Imagine stepping into a clean, well-run shop at Anderson Fittings— a contract manufacturer of brass fittings for plumbing and industrial uses. You prep two automated high speed rotary transfer machining centers, load brass forgings, and turn raw stock into precision parts that meet strict specs, all while keeping safety and quality front and center.

What you’ll handle

• Full ownership of setup, operation, and in-process adjustments on rotary transfer machine centers, including programming, offsets, and tool changes.
• Dimensional verification using micrometers, calipers, and other gages; enter and monitor results in computer-based SPC.
• Rapid diagnosis and correction of tooling issues to protect quality and uptime.
• Daily checks on fluid levels and light preventive maintenance.
• Chip removal/processing and routine cleaning of machines.
• Loading parts and maintaining output to documented machining rates.
• Recording production and communicating issues during the shift.
• Practicing good housekeeping and following all safety regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

When you’ll work

Begin on day shift for training, then transition to third shift within roughly 3–5 weeks. 3rd Shift - 10:00pm - 6:30am

What you’ll need

• Independence on the floor and strong mechanical aptitude.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with robot-loaded equipment (nice to have).
• Comfort with computers and machine controls (nice to have).
• Precision measurement skills with micrometers, calipers, and bore mics.
• At least 3 years of CNC close-tolerance machining experience, or relevant coursework in Precision Machine Technology or Mechanical Production Technology.

Physical requirements

Expect frequent standing, bending, and lifting; you should be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and periodically 20–40 lbs.
