Laundry Aide
- Handle and process laundry using proper policies and procedures
- Label laundry per the facility procedures
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and handle laundry using proper procedures
- Rinse soiled linen before washing if needed
- Eliminate crossing of soiled and clean linen
- Load washers and dryers at proper weight
- Stock linen areas per guidelines
- Maintain a clean work and storage area
- Pick up and deliver linens to units per schedule
- Label all compounds and chemicals properly and store them in locked storage areas
- Follow user directions for all compounds and chemicals
- Use proper body mechanics
- Follow proper infection control practices
- Observe for resident safety when in resident care areas
- Maintain fire aisles when picking up and delivering laundry
- Adhere to all facility and department safety policies and procedures
- Receives supervision from Laundry Supervisor
- No convictions for abuse, neglect, or mistreatment or for misappropriation of property
- Prompt and regular attendance
- Ability to read, write, and make simple calculations and follow oral and written directions
- Knowledge of principles and requirements of sanitation and safety in handling laundry and equipment
- Must be able to lift, bend, and move laundry equipment and supplies
- Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent interruptions
- May be exposed to chemicals, dust, and other allergens
