Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Mount Vernon, IL 62864 (Illinois nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital – LDRP & Nursery Unit
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (September 22, 2025 – December 22, 2025)
• Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Accepted Shift Schedules: 2x12, 3x12, and 4x12 hour shifts per week are accepted
• Hours per Week: 24–48 (depending on shift schedule)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2020–$2070
• Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Adults
• Average Monthly Deliveries: 140–160
• Weekend Coverage: Required (1 Friday, 1 Saturday, 1 Sunday per 4-week schedule)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery RN experience
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or compact state
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required
• AWHONN (Advanced, Beginner, or Intermediate) and STABLE certifications preferred
• Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system preferred
• Level 2 nursery experience, circulate, scrub, and triage skills preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Labor and Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers, antepartum, and postpartum patients
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and labor inductions
• Perform newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, and neonatal resuscitation
• Support breastfeeding and provide lactation education to new mothers
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and monitor fetal heart rates
• Conduct hearing screens, newborn screens, and assist with circumcisions
• Float between labor, mother/baby, or act as sitter on other hospital units as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
