Title VI Office - Office of the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
The Resolution Specialist will respond to Title VI Misconduct reports and meet with affected individuals regarding their experience, provide campus and community resources, discuss and implement supportive measures, and explain campus procedures. The Resolution Specialist will also be responsible for resolving reports of Title VI Misconduct by identifying and interviewing relevant parties and witnesses, assessing witness credibility, gathering and analyzing relevant information, and reaching sound policy conclusions regarding whether a hostile environment was created by reported behavior. The Resolution Specialist will coordinate efforts to eliminate the discriminatory conduct, prevent its recurrence and address its effects on affected individuals.Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct intake meetings with affected individuals when reports of Title VI Misconduct are received and ensure reasonable supportive measures are offered and implemented as appropriate.
- Conduct preliminary inquiries into reports by gathering available information and meeting with witnesses.
- Consider whether reported Title VI Misconduct involves free speech or academic freedom in collaboration with university stakeholders.
- Maintain detailed case files of all activity taken on individual reports and the information collected. Understand when a case should be referred to other university offices and refer appropriately.
- Assess whether the incidents of reported Title VI Misconduct have created a hostile environment within a university program or activity.
- Engage in steps to address Title VI Misconduct to include remedial measures that are reasonably calculated to eliminate the discriminatory conduct, prevent its recurrence and address its effects on affected individuals.
- Assist with receiving and processing reports as they are submitted to the Title VI Office.
- Coordinate and conduct Title VI and related training and educational programs for the university community related to their rights, responsibilities, services and procedures.
- Serve on committees on behalf of the Title VI Office.
- Collaborate in the development of periodic and annual reports; support special projects or assignments given by the Director, and/or the Vice Chancellor.
Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree
- A total of two (2) years (24 months) in education, training, and/or work experience in fact-finding, analyzing levels of misconduct, and/or implementing supportive measures.
- Demonstrated experience in handling conflict resolution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Juris Doctor or master’s degree preferably in higher education, human resources, social work, or a related field.
- Prior experience working with civil rights claims.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidance governing misconduct response in higher education.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting fact-finding.
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals in stressful situations.
- Demonstrated experience developing and providing educational programs and/or presentations.
- Experience managing highly confidential and sensitive matters.
- Experience
operating in databases and working with Excel.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to prioritize work and successfully perform duties independently.
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse campus population.
- Demonstrated ability to be inquisitive and detail oriented.
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service Program Coordinator position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 10/10/2025. This position allows for hybrid work only with 80% on-site attendance. The budgeted salary range for the position is $65,000-$75,000. Final salary offered will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
