The System Support Specialist is responsible for supporting service engineers and third party integrators (i.e., STOPA) at final stages of system integration (machines, automation, and storage), and is responsible for system acceptance, providing on-site training and production support during the life cycle of the system. A successful System Support Specialist ensures excellent customer experience from system acceptance to operation.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate fully automated systems comprised of various technologies (Laser, Punch, and Bending), storage systems (STOPA and TruStore), and software (Oseon and Boost)
  • Troubleshoot automation related issues and help resolve the problem in coordination with Service and Applications- remotely and onsite
  • Train customer operators on-site in the daily operation of systems Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering final product in fully functional state
  • Primary contact for customers on system-related questions and issues
  • Work in close cooperation with Smart Factory Project Managers, Application Engineers, Software Support Engineers and all different process owners in technical service
  • Provide consulting & analyses to improve customer production processes based on quantitative and qualitative assessment
  • Provide management level professional post-mission reports to staff and customers
  • Provide Remote-Support, for customers while actively coordinating with and allocating issues to internal customers – (PSG, SCC, Oseon, etc)
  • Work as required, with minimal or no supervision
  • Travel requirement is up to 50%, including overnight national and international travel
  • Preparation and coordination of major system updates like software updates or Retrofits

Experience

Strong knowledge and experience in TRUMPF machines, automation equipment, and their operation. Strong aptitude or knowledge of sophisticated technical machine systems. Strong analytical and excellent communication skills required due to intensive contact with customers.

Education

A minimum of 2-year technical school degree with a solid math background required or equivalent education and work experience.
