Position #1 is a Thu – Mon 5-day schedule:

Position #2 is a Wed - Sun 4-day schedule:

Su-Tu Off

W 1300-0001

Th 1300-0001

F 1900-0500

The Domestic Freight Specialist (hourly or salaried) has high visibility, is the primary contact for designated customers, and responsible for the outcome of assigned projects including customer service, tracking, routing, problem resolution, vendor compliance and customer interaction. Reports directly to Lead or Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

· Quoting, tracking and tracing domestic freight shipments moving via air/ground on a daily basis. Track overhead shipments daily and route accordingly

· Proactively communicate with clients regarding status of freight

· Route freight shipments across multiple transportation modes and services based upon client requests

· TSA compliance – validate known shipper status at time of quote, shipment entry and date of tender and update using the KSMS system, validate internal vendor compliance

· Manage daily on-time and exception codes, carrier re-weights and ensure all shipments are updated

· Understand the requirements/expectations of handling shipments of consequence – NFO, high-value, date/time specific, etc.

· Obtain and update both the cost and sell rates on non-quoted shipments

· Answer Departmental phone lines and emails

· Assist local sales and domestic offices with air/ground freight issues

· Communicate with vendors/suppliers regarding shipment dispatch, routing and rates

· Actively solicit new vendors

· Actively audit vendor rates and look for savings where we can

· Participate in the creation of any departmental, or customer SOPS as required by the lead / supervisor / or manager

· Continuous learning through required compliance training and certifications of software and/or regulations.

· Assist in compiling customer specific key performance indicator (KPI) reports on a weekly/monthly basis as needed

· Network with corresponding departments to ensure files are billed and posted prior to end of month

· Weekend rotation schedule for on call

· Closely follow the Domestic Operations SOP , Department specific SOP, and any customer specific SOP and all updates / changes

· All other duties as the business deems necessary

Qualifications:

· Associates Degree or 5-7 years industry related experience

· 5 years minimum Freight Forwarding experience including but not limited to Air, OTR and White
Glove

· Intermediate knowledge of IATA and TSA regulations

· A strong work ethic with an appreciation for ownership, independence, accountability, and
autonomy in your role

· Ability effectively prioritize and manage time and tasks

· Domestic Air shipments – booking, tracking etc..

· Domestic Ground shipments – ability to quote and book domestic hotshots

· Final Mile solutions – able to quote and book final mile – White Glove
shipments

· Ability to communicate and interact effectively with a variety of people; can effectively present
information in one-on-one settings

· Knowledge of U.S. geography and airport codes a plus

· Attention to Detail (Ensures one’s own work is complete and accurate; monitors the quality of work,
verifies information, checks the accuracy of own and other’s work; organizes information and
materials for others to understand.)

· Basic knowledge or ability to learn regulations and compliance procedures associated with all areas
of freight forwarding, domestic forwarding ground carriers, commercial airlines, and cartage.

· Basic to intermediate experience using MS Office
