- Set up, initiate, and maintain oxygen therapy as prescribed
- Set up and monitor non-invasive respiratory monitoring equipment
- Perform bronchial hygiene procedures in accordance with department protocols
- Assist with the administration of respiratory medications as ordered by physicians
- Perform routine respiratory therapy checks and document all care provided in the patient’s medical record and electronic medical record (EMR)
- Disassemble, clean, and prepare respiratory therapy equipment for sterilization
- Communicate relevant patient care information to physicians, nurses, and respiratory therapy staff
- Assist with oxygen initiation and follow-up care
- Adhere to all hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control guidelines
