Academic Hourly
Prof. Julia Fonseca at Gies College of Business and Prof. Lu Liu at the Wharton School are seeking an Academic Hourly worker at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to assist with textual analysis of a large dataset. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in programming, data processing, and natural language processing. Job responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing algorithms to extract insights from unstructured text data
- Cleaning, visualizing and analyzing data
- Helping summarize and draft findings
- B.A. or master's degree in computer science or closely related field
- Proficiency in Python
- Extensive experience with NLP techniques and libraries
- Master's degree in computer science or closely related field
- Familiarity with SQL and large-scale data processing tools
- Familiarity with data visualization techniques
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
This is a part-time academic hourly position with flexible scheduling. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 1/16/2026. The wage for this position is $18/hour. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
