Description

The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of Riverside Healthcare by preparing both single-entity and consolidated financial statements for internal and external stakeholders. This position is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger through detailed analysis, account reconciliation, and the preparation of journal and accrual entries. The Staff Accountant will also provide accounting support to various departments across the organization.

Additional responsibilities include assisting with the annual independent audit, compiling documentation for regulatory compliance, and contributing to the preparation of annual budget schedules. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Demonstrates flexibility with assignments within professional scope/duties/licensure.

Essential Duties:

  • Assists in budget preparation and monthly accounting assistance.
  • Completes monthly schedules and entries.
  • Creates and enters all journal entries each month and year end.
  • Maintains general ledgers, accounts payable and payroll systems.
  • Prepares audit schedules for outside auditors.
  • Prepares bank reconciliation.
  • Prepares financial statements.
  • Prepares quarterly and year end IRS and state filings.

Requirements

Required Education/Licensure:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other Business-related field required

Required Experience:

  • Candidates must possess a solid knowledge of general accounting and financial analysis
  • Strong communication, excellent verbal and written communication skills are required as well as proficiency in MS Office products

Preferred Experience:

  • 2-5 years work experience in accounting with healthcare experience a plus

Preferred Education/Licensure:

  • CPA or CPA eligible preferred
