Radiologic Technologist Job Details

• Location: Bloomington, IL 61701 (Illinois healthcare jobs)
• Facility Setting: Hospital – Cardiac Cath Lab
• Assignment Type: Travel Radiologic Technologist (Locum Tenens)
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: December 22, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 9-hour day shifts (4x9s); weeknight call 1-2 nights/week; weekend call every 3rd to 5th weekend
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $3000 - $3080

Radiologic Technologist Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology (two-year post-high school program)
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT certification required)
• Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Radiologic Technologist license or eligibility to obtain
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist or Special Procedures Technologist
• Demonstrated clinical skills to provide care for patients of all ages
• Ability to pass a drug screen (drug-free workplace)

Key Responsibilities – Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist

• Perform cine, digital subtraction angiography, and advanced radiologic procedures under sterile technique to assist physicians in cardiac diagnosis and treatment
• Prepare exam areas, position patients, and operate complex radiology equipment following safety protocols
• Serve as scrub tech, arranging sterile instrument tables and assisting during cardiac catheterization procedures
• Operate physiologic monitors to record cardiovascular and pulmonary functions during diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Transfer and archive images in the cardiac picture archival system, maintaining accurate patient records
• Monitor patient cardiovascular and pulmonary status, recognize arrhythmias, and promptly alert physicians
• Maintain and troubleshoot radiology equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Participate in department meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives
• Assist with room turnover, waste management, and supply restocking between patients
• Fulfill monthly on-call requirements, including weekends, after-hours, and holidays
