Fundraising Consultant

Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic and passionate Fundraising Coordinator to lead fundraising efforts and increase community awareness for Puerta Abierta Preschool. This part-time position offers the flexibility to work remotely while making a meaningful impact on our mission to provide accessible, high-quality Spanish immersion education to children in our community.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to support tuition assistance, scholarships, and program expansion
• Cultivate relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporate sponsors, and community partners
• Create compelling grant proposals and donor communications that tell Puerta Abierta's story
• Increase community awareness through strategic outreach, marketing initiatives, and partnerships
• Plan and execute fundraising events and campaigns
• Build and maintain a donor database and track fundraising metrics
• Collaborate with school leadership and board members to identify funding priorities

Qualifications

• Proven experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or related field
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong relationship-building abilities and comfort with donor cultivation
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment
• Grant writing experience preferred
• Passion for early childhood education, bilingual education, and/or educational equity
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills desirable but not required
• Familiarity with the Evanston/Chicago community a plus

Position Details

Hours: 10 hours per week to start, with opportunity for increased hours based on performance and organizational needs

Work Environment: Flexible remote position with occasional on-site meetings and community events

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Reports To: School Director/Board of Directors
