Market & Competitive Intelligence Strategist
- Market Forecasting
- Build robust market and product-level forecasts, including TAM/SAM/SOM, by region and segment.
- Develop internal demand forecasts that support business planning, new product introductions, and long-range revenue outlooks.
- Integrate external signals, competitive benchmarks, and customer trends into forecast models.
- Strategic Intelligence & Landscape Analysis
- Monitor and assess macroeconomic, technological, regulatory, and geopolitical trends that impact G&W’s operating environment.
- Deliver actionable insights on market shifts, disruptive forces, and competitive threats.
- Competitor Intelligence
- Conduct deep-dive analyses on key competitors, emerging players, suppliers, and partners.
- Track product roadmaps, pricing moves, and M&A to anticipate shifts in competitive positioning.
- Growth Space Identification
- Surface whitespace opportunities across adjacencies, technologies, or customer segments.
- M&A Support
- Lead market and competitor diligence to evaluate potential acquisition targets.
- Collaborate with Corporate Development and Finance on market justification and thesis validation.
- Planning & Strategic Enablement
- Translate insights into frameworks and guidance that inform annual plans, resource allocation, and investment priorities.
- Act as a thought partner to Sales, Product Management, and Innovation in aligning execution to opportunity.
- Serve as the executional lead for GSIT’s Market & Competitive Insights pillar, developing standard processes, models, and deliverables.
- Act as a force multiplier to the broader insights and product teams by centralizing external intelligence.
- Deliver compelling, insight-driven presentations to senior leaders that challenge assumptions and guide direction.
- Mentor analysts and foster a culture of evidence-based decision-making.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Political Science, or related field
- 6+ years in market intelligence, strategy, consulting, or related fields.
- Proven experience building market and product forecasts that influence investment and planning decisions.
- Experience in conducting competitive analysis and landscape assessments.
- Track record of delivering insights that support growth, innovation, or transformation initiatives.
- Advanced modeling and forecasting capabilities.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau); familiarity with syndicated databases (e.g., PitchBook, Statista) a plus.
- Ability to synthesize complex, ambiguous inputs into clear and actionable insights.
- MBA or relevant master’s degree preferred.
- Background in energy, industrials, electrical equipment, or infrastructure markets.
- Experience operating within or alongside strategy, innovation, or corporate development teams.
