Summary
The Account Executive – Data & AI is an experienced technology sales professional responsible for driving growth in SDI’s rapidly expanding Data & AI practice. This role focuses on net-new logo acquisition as well as expansion of existing accounts across both public-sector (state and local government, education) and commercial clients.
The successful candidate will have experience selling advanced analytics, data platforms, and AI-driven solutions, with the ability to connect SDI’s consulting and managed services expertise to client priorities through a a strong understanding of how to position services and partnerships (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, DataRobot, cloud-native data solutions). They must demonstrate consultative selling skills, the ability to influence senior decision-makers, and a proven track record of closing complex IT services and consulting engagements.
SDI Presence Offers:
- A Competitive Salary range: $150,000 - $190,000/year plus Commission
- Base salary may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonuses or commissions.

Responsibilities
- Drive revenue growth by selling SDI’s Data & AI services and solutions into public-sector and commercial accounts on the West Coast.
- Build strong relationships with CIOs, CTOs, Chief Data Officers, and business leaders to uncover and shape opportunities.
- Partner with SDI’s technical teams and ecosystem partners (Databricks, Snowflake, DataRobot, hyperscalers) to design solutions aligned with client data and AI strategies.
- Lead pursuit efforts, including qualification, strategy, proposal development, deal closing, and contract negotiation.
- Position SDI as a trusted advisor on topics such as cloud migration, data governance, data literacy, advanced analytics, AI/ML adoption, and digital transformation.
- Consistently meet or exceed sales quotas.
- Represent SDI at industry conferences, technology partner events, and regional associations.
Requirements
- 7+ years of enterprise IT services or solutions sales experience, with a focus on data, analytics, or AI-driven technologies.
- Demonstrated success closing multimillion-dollar services engagements with both public-sector (SLED) and commercial clients.
- Experience selling in partnership with Databricks, Snowflake, DataRobot, or cloud hyperscalers.
- Understanding of modern data architectures, analytics platforms, and AI/ML adoption challenges.
- Proven ability to manage long, complex sales cycles and navigate procurement processes.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree.
Additional Requirements Desired
- Existing network of relationships within California SLED and/or commercial enterprises.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements impacting data and AI adoption in public-sector and regulated industries.
- Demonstrated thought leadership (conference speaking, blogging, webinars).
- Professional services or consulting delivery experience.
