Quality Technician

Job Title: Quality TechnicianJob Description

The Quality Technician will be responsible for the inspection of various metal parts using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and comparators. The candidate will also operate a CMM machine for inspections and will be trained to program it for long-term use. The role involves taking parts from production and running them through a quality assurance process. Most of the day will involve inspection and documentation tasks, with some time spent on CMM operation and general duties.

Responsibilities

• Inspect metal parts using micrometers, calipers, and comparators.

• Operate and program CMM machines for part inspections.

• Conduct visual inspections and document findings.

• Ensure parts meet quality assurance standards and tolerances.

• Perform internal audits and adhere to ISO standards.

• Engage in general duties such as cleaning work area and filing paperwork.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in using micrometers and calipers.

• Ability to read blueprints and have strong mathematical skills.

• Understanding of tolerances, dimensions, and GD&T.

• Experience with internal auditing and quality assurance processes.

• Technical mindset and proactive approach.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• ITAR compliance.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferred).

Work Environment

This position operates on the first shift from 6 am to 2:30 pm with flexibility for later start times and opportunities for overtime. The workplace is a smaller company with 50-60 employees, located in a small office near the manufacturing floor. The role involves occasional walking on the floor to retrieve finished products. The company handles aerospace parts and government contracts. The dress code includes jeans, a work shirt, and steel-toe shoes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
