PCU RN Job Details – Nashville, TN

• Location: Nashville, TN 37207 (Tennessee nursing jobs)
• Unit: Neuro Med/Surg, Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Registered Nurse
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/22/2025 – End: 12/22/2025)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00–07:00), 36 hours per week
• Unit Size: 20 beds
• Patient Ratio: 6:1
• Support Staff: Tech support on all shifts; unit secretary 7a–7p
• Electronic Documentation: Meditech
• Uniform Requirement: Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered RN license (Registered Nurse – Tennessee or compact state)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg or Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Strong clinical skills in IV starts, wound care, surgical drain, nasogastric tube, and chest tube maintenance
• Ability to multitask and prioritize patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate bedside care to neuro med/surg patients in the PCU
• Conduct thorough bedside shift reports and build rapport with patients and families
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Operate advanced clinical equipment: IV pumps, telemetry, continuous pulse oximetry, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile technology
• Float to other nursing units as needed per contract labor rotation policy
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation in Meditech EHR system
