Cyd’s in the Park – Peoria, Illinois

Cyd’s is looking for an energetic, creative, and highly motivated baker to join our Market baking team. We are searching for someone who loves the craft of baking, enjoys working independently, and is excited to contribute new ideas while maintaining the quality and consistency our guests have come to expect.

This position is scheduled five days per week , generally 6–8 hours per day , with additional hours available during busy seasons and holidays. We can offer some flexibility in schedule creation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake a variety of desserts and baked goods for our market.
• Produce cookies, bars, brownies, cakes, pastries, and other seasonal specialties.
• Follow established recipes while contributing fresh ideas and creative additions to our menu.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
• Properly rotate and label products and ingredients.
• Help maintain inventory and communicate product needs.
• Work collaboratively with our kitchen + market teams to ensure products are consistently available and beautifully presented.
• Assist with the creation of holiday menus and seasonal offerings.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience in baking or pastry production preferred.
• Experience with basic bakery preparation techniques.
• Possession of all required Illinois food safety licenses and certifications.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move bakery ingredients and supplies.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of quality and consistency.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.

This position leans more heavily toward pastry and dessert production than artisan bread baking. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, dependable, and eager to bring both energy and ideas to the table.
