Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown) position at a Level II Trauma facility, requiring an active IL RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Details

• Acute care stepdown/PCU unit at a Level II Trauma facility
• 24-bed unit with a 1:3 or 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio depending on acuity
• Patient population includes dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary conditions, sepsis, high-flow O2 needs, and behavioral patients requiring IV drip medications
• Medication drips include dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitro, amio, dobutamine, and nicardipine
• EMR: Epic
• 12-hour day shifts
• May be required to work up to every other weekend
• High patient throughput consistent with a stepdown environment

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• BSN not required
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• Stepdown or PCU experience strongly recommended given the patient population and acuity level

• A unit educator works closely with staff and is available as an ongoing resource
• 13-week contract with 12-hour day shifts
