Senior Accountant (Remote)

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and compliance across our fast-growing food business. Position Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Remote (with occasional travel to facility as needed)
Reports To: Accounting Manager

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting for Real Good Foods’ business operations. This fully remote position provides accounting support across multiple sites, maintaining compliance with GAAP, and preparing financial statements that align with corporate and regulatory standards. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policies

• Manage general ledger activity including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments

• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insight into cost drivers, variances, and financial trends

• Ensure compliance with regulatory and other external stakeholder requirements that impact financial processes

• Support external audit and tax requirements and prepare supporting schedules and documentation

• Support payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions, as well as other ad hoc finance tasks as needed

• Recommend and implement process improvements and internal controls to strengthen financial accuracy and efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA preferred

• 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or food processing

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and inventory management

• ERP system experience (NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or equivalent); strong Excel skills required

• Proven ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable financial insights

• Excellent time management and communication skills, with experience working in remote environments

Work Environment

• Remote role with flexibility to work across time zones

• Occasional travel to facilities for audits or team meetings may be required
