Position Description
This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Healthy Start Consortium, including meetings, community engagement, planning and development, and implementation of maternal and child health activities that support consortium mission and achievement of Healthy Start program goals.
Essential Responsibilities
- Convene multi-sector state, local, and community level partners, including Healthy Start participants and other community members, to strengthen maternal child health services and coordinate activities aimed at reducing disparities in perinatal health outcomes.
- Recruit and maintain diverse consortium membership.
- Plan, coordinate, and lead full consortium meetings and work group meetings.
- Lead consortium in developing and implementing a community action plan.
- Document consortium’s work and prepare required reports.
- Communicate with consortium members in a timely manner to support collaboration.
- Assist with community assessments, education, classes and program evaluation activities.
- Represent the consortium and its priorities to individuals, the public, and organizations at the local, state and national level.
- Participate in required meetings and training events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Skilled facilitator of groups and meetings.
- Computer proficiency with use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members, healthcare providers, and service providers.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree
- One plus (1+) year of relevant work experience or three years of work experience in community service or related field.

WORK SCHEDULE
Normal work hours for this position are Monday through Friday dayshift. Some occasional evening and weekend hours.
