Overview
We are currently seeking a Sr Director of HSE for our Midwest Transportation Division. The Sr Director HSE is responsible for developing essential administrative processes that support project management to ensure compliance within project requirements. They maintain a document management system to ensure the efficient receipt, distribution and secure central filing of project and technical documents. They ensure all team members are able to readily access the latest version of all project and technical information. They also implement and maintain strategies, methods and procedures of document control throughout the life of the project. - Identifies and establishes HSE programs, guidelines and standards that support the company’s business plans and are compliant with all regulations.
- Deploys HSE processes that demonstrate continuous improvement in HSE stewardship.
- Contributes to annual operating planning and corporate governance processes, including audits, compliance initiatives, government reporting, and identification of best practice initiatives.
- Establishes key metrics that drive the effectiveness of the HSE program across the division.
- Ensures staffing and training within the division meets all corporate requirements.
- Safeguards all relationships with President and BGL’s, as well as Sr Business Group Leader if present. Integrates HSE programs and processes to ensure synergy with operations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent
- Minimum 12 - 15 years of experience, with most of the experience on major construction projects
- CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) Certification
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Safety Management Supervisor (SMS) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and ability to prioritize, organize and manage time.
- Knowledge of regulations and standards as well as hazard recognition and injury management skills.
- Salary Range: $156,000 - $261,000
