The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a Sr. Credit Analyst role in the Glenview, IL market. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing competent and accurate credit analysis for commercial loan requests incorporating an evaluation of the financial condition of current or prospective borrowers for loan consideration.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $90K and an excellent benefits package.

Sr. Credit Analyst responsibilities include:

• Supporting lending activities by providing insightful and timely credit analysis of prospective and current borrowers, including interpretation of financial statements, collateral, and cash flows.
• Analyzing financial data to determine the merits of loan requests.
• Spreading and analyzing financial statements utilizing spreading software.
• Recommending structure as well as identifying cross-selling/referring opportunities of other services.
• Preparing a deal checklist of items needed for credit submission for loan officer review.
• Working with multiple loan files in various stages of completeness to move them towards credit submission.
• Gathering all items needed for credit submission by following a pre-determined credit submission checklist.
• Interacting with the borrower to insure all items are needed for a complete package.
• Working with the loan officer and the customer to answer any additional questions the underwriter may have for loan approval.
• Preparing annual loan file reviews.
• Performing other duties and special projects as assigned.

You also bring the following skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Math, or Economics.
• Three or more years of credit analysis desired.
• Experience with SBA loans preferred.
• Working knowledge of commercial lending and financial statement analysis, income tax laws and return preparation, and documentation.
• High level of analytical ability.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to maintain the confidentiality of information, as appropriate.
• Practical working knowledge of financial statement analysis.
• Knowledge and use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• A high level of initiative, thoroughness, accuracy, and organizational skills required.
